CFMC Launches New DrOnCall Telehealth Platform
Cumberland Family Medical Center, Inc. (CFMC) is excited to announce the launch of DrOnCall, a 24-hour telehealth platform that allows care for patients in new ways that are safe and convenient. Patients can connect to a provider from the comfort of home using a smartphone, tablet, or computer through video conferencing, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
“The need for social distancing has made us realize that delivery of health care can be done in a variety of manners, including telecommunication options, while still ensuring confidentiality and quality,” states Dr. Eric Loy, CEO of CFMC. “DrOnCall also allows us to make medical providers available outside the traditional office hours when patients are in need of care.”
Telehealth is frequently used for follow-up visits, management of chronic conditions, medication management, mild cases of cold/flu symptoms, urinary tract infections, rashes, and other acute care needs. Additionally, it is also conducive to medical goal setting or advanced care planning, mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression, and a host of other clinical services that can be provided remotely via secure video and audio connections.
Medical appointments, both traditional in-office appointments and the new DrOnCall service, can be made calling any Family Medical Center provider’s office or Healthy Kids Clinic at 844-435-0900. To schedule a behavioral health appointment, please call 270-858-6655 x3388.
